Impact Investment Manager

We are looking for a passionate and creative Impact Investment Manager to join our team. Your role will be to join the founding partners of Impact Shakers Ventures to support our full investment process.

We’re looking for someone who is excited to join a new impact fund and grow it with us.

You’ll have a front-row seat in the transformative world of impact investment, playing a vital role in funding systemic solutions that tackle societal and environmental challenges. We’re looking for someone with a min of 4 years of experience in a (impact) venture fund who wants to champion inclusive investment practices, ensuring that diverse founders and sustainable solutions thrive.

About the Role

As an impact investment manager you play a crucial role in aligning investment strategies with both financial returns and positive social or environmental outcomes.

Research and Analysis: You conduct in-depth research and analysis to identify investment opportunities that have the potential for both financial returns and positive impact. This involves analyzing market trends, financial performance, and the potential social or environmental benefits of various investment options.
Due Diligence: You perform thorough due diligence on potential investments to assess their financial viability, risk factors, and alignment with impact goals. This includes evaluating the credibility of impact claims made by companies or projects.
Impact Measurement and Reporting: Together with our Head of Impact, you develop and implement frameworks for measuring the social or environmental impact of investments. This may involve defining key performance indicators (KPIs), collecting relevant data, and analyzing impact metrics to assess the effectiveness of investment strategies. You also prepare reports to communicate impact performance to stakeholders.
Portfolio Management: You oversee the construction and management of impact investment portfolios, balancing financial objectives with impact goals. This involves asset allocation, risk management, and ongoing monitoring of portfolio performance.
Stakeholder Engagement: You engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including investors, portfolio companies, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies. This may involve building relationships, communicating impact goals, and collaborating on initiatives to maximize positive outcomes.
Compliance and Regulation: You ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards governing impact investing. This includes staying informed about regulatory developments and integrating compliance requirements into investment processes.

About you

You have 4-5 years of experience with due diligence and portfolio management in a (impact) venture capital fund (not an ecosystem builder).
You have deep financial knowledge and can apply it in a venture capital context.
You have experience with reporting.
You’re passionate about reshaping how we see and use entrepreneurship as a vehicle for change.
You understand what diversity and inclusion mean from personal experience.

You’re excited about remote teams and working independently.
You’re a creative problem solver, skilled at problem-solving, reading patterns, anticipating customers’ needs, analysing trends, and positioning opportunities for greater impact and revenue generation - even when faced with adversity, you’re always thinking up new creative solutions and offering real help.
You possess a willingness to embrace change and to adapt strategies accordingly.
You are compelled by delivering results and making change happen.
You are pragmatic and can work at pace with a great ability to prioritise
